Dr.Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the death of King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor issued the ruling at the Los Angeles Superior Court;

“You can’t have probation when there isn’t an acknowledgment of rehabilitation or responsibility and remorse. Dr. Murray engaged in a recurring, continuous pattern of deceit, of lies and regrettably, that pattern was to assist Dr. Murray.”

Dr. Conrad Murray will likely serve only half of his four-year jail sentence due to a recent change in California law that allows non-violent felony offenders to serve their time in county jail instead of state prison.

Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother, said after sentencing:

“Four years is not enough for someone’s life. It won’t bring him back, but at least he got the maximum.”

According to news reports:

The Associated Press reports that “publicist Sally Morrison says the actress died Wednesday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, California) from congestive heart failure. Morrison says her children were at her side. She’d been hospitalized for about six weeks.”

Michael Jackson’s death has been officially ruled as HOMICIDE and the change as been amended & reflected in the late King of Pop’s Death Certificate.

The documentation now states that Michael died from ‘acute Propofol intoxication’ due to an ‘intravenous injection from another’….and the pop singer’s doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray is expected to be charged with manslaughter and prosecuted for ‘gross negligence‘ for his treatment of the  pop star during his last hours…

Dr. Murray’s legal peeps said that the doctor had no comment and reiterated that Murray neither prescribed nor administered anything that should have killed Michael Jackson.

However, authorities have  lined up medical expert witnesses who will testify about the normal standard of care in a situation such as MJ’s and will give opinions on why Dr. Murray’s actions constituted ‘gross negligence‘, the source said. The police investigation was substantially completed by the end of December…

Wow, this time last year, I was in Los Angeles, California, covering the 2008 American Music Awards for BlackTree TV. I  even interviewed CHRIS BROWN, 2008 Artist of the Year, American Music Awards.

Last year’s nominees in this category were Chris Brown, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Kanye West. And what a difference a year makes! Chris Brown got into it with Rihanna and ‘Ye “Kanye West’d” Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Awards….phew!
