New York City is always fun!

The Afrotainment Museke Awards honored African Artists with a celebration of African music on September 24th.

Super proud that we hosted the FIRST ever Afrotainment Museke Awards! Great turn-out and artists repped Africa lovely & good times were had….

Tivo & I co-hosted the Awards show….

Our big winners Viviane Ndour and Fally Ipupa also graced the stage performing some of their most famous records.

Angelique Kidjo was also honored with her very first lifetime achievement award. Other big performers included Ghana’s Blitz The Ambassador, French-Cameroonian sisters Les Nubians and Rwandan artist Iyadede.

I am getting more and more excited about the Afrotainment Museke Awards.

Yes, the 2011 Afrotainment Museke Awards are in less than a week, on Saturday, September 24th in New York City. I can’t wait to be there! But before then, my team and I are still making sure all our friends get the INSIDE scoop on the fab awards celebrating all things African music.

On WKRP Radio will be a week long celebration for the Afrotainment Museke Awards. You should check it out on the Afro-Deeziak Show with Gracie Phoenix everyday starting at 3pm (EST). The Afro-Deeziak Show is on wkrpradio.com.
