So I was recently invited to Roc Nation rising artist, J COLE‘s listening party and media meet & greet at the uber fabulous MGM Hotel in Detroit, MI. It was a beautiful musical affair, with both J Cole fans & media folks mingling & networking to J Cole‘s music!

J Cole, really Jermaine Cole is an rap artist to watch out for! He is the first artist to be signed to Jay Z‘s record label, Roc Nation and his first studio album “Cole World” is scheduled to drop on October 26th, 2010. Like Drake, J.Cole is bi-racial, born in Frankfurt, Germany to a Black father and a White mother. He was however raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

What I love about J Cole is that he actually graduated magna cum laude at St. John’s University where he majored in communication and minored in business.

J Cole performed his new music & I have to admit, I really enjoyed his set! He brings a certain energy to his music and that is what keeps him rising…

    J. Cole is superior to Drake in every way. His album is not going to be called Cole World though. Thats what happens we journalist use wikipedia to get background info.

    J.Cole!!! lol @ your friend saying she wants to have his baby! haha I know tons of girls who probably feel the same way. I see why… he's a cutie, and seems like a really great guy. As far as Drake vs J. Cole I think they're both talented but Cole's more of a true rapper. He'll make more classic albums and have longevity. Drake is becoming too mainstream for me.
