R.I.P: Top British Fashion Designer, ALEXANDER McQUEEN FOUND DEAD

The Daily Mail has reported the death of top designer, Alexander McQueen who was found dead in his luxury flat in Green Park, central London. It is believed he hanged himself.

His collections were a favorite with celebrities (Rihanna, Lady Gaga etc.) including U.S First Lady, Mrs. Obama. She really liked her chalk stripe Alexander McQueen suit which she wore when she began her campaign against childhood obesity at a YMCA in Alexandria, Virginia, where she spoke on the issue.

This suit has certainly been a favorite of Mrs. Obama’s in recent years as she has worn it several times on the Presidential campaign trail during 2007 and 2008.

Both the chalk stripe suit and this September 2008 Ebony cover jacket, come from the Spring 2008 Alexander McQueen collection.

Earlier this month, his mom, Joyce McQueen passed away and Alexander (his twitter account is down) had tweeted to his followers:

i’m letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This also comes three years after the woman who “discovered” him and his good friend, Isabella Blow (style guru & fashion director of Tatler) committed suicide.
